The beginning
Val Gardena proudly boasts about its woodcarving tradition which dates to the 17th century, when local farmers began carving wooden tools. Over the decades, many families began to produce small wooden animals and toys during the cold winter month to sell them at the spring markets. Eventually, this craftmanship evolved into refined religious sculptures such as cruifixes, angels, and sacred statues. Passed down through generations, woodcarving became a defining element of Val Gardena's cultural identity and is today renowned wordwide for it's quality and artistry.
Modern technology
Woodcarving in Val Gardena combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology in a carefully maintained balance. While the artistic vision, hand-finishing, and final detailing remain firmly in the hands of artisans, modern machinery now supports the production process by enhancing precision, consistency and efficiency. Wood is a versatile and expressive material that can be shaped into almost any form imaginable. Starting from your idea, we work closely with you to create a sculpture exactly as you envision it. Each commissioned piece is entirely handcrafted, making it truly unique. This will be certified by the Province of Bolzano, through a protection label and official documentation. Established in 1969 by the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano, this trademark distinguishes fully hand-carved sculptures from mechanically produced series and includes a registered silver disc guaranteeing its origin and handmade quality

Our online shop features a wide selection, of sacred and contemporary pieces, including nativity scenes, saints, angels, animals, children’s prayers, crosses, lanterns, decorations, and much more. Our series products are primarily made from maple wood. The basic shapes are made with modern machinery, while all details are hand carved- and painted, ensuring quality and individuality.
